Issues we've encountered while migrating affiliations from V2.1 to V3.0

Mon, 17 Jun 2019 - 01:47 UTC
Hello ORICD team, we’re in the midst of migrating our code from V2.1 to V3.0. As we’re using the swagger as the seed for our code, we’ve discovered a range of issues with both the swagger defs, and changes to the values that the API accepts. Some of these appear stylistic, others are core.

I am trying to authenticate a JupyterHub service with ORCiD. I am working on a test server (without HTTPS nor DNS). They request for the endpoint with user data and after looking for it too much time, I found this one: https://sandbox.orcid.org/oauth/userinfo. For this purpose, I created a

Aligned ISNI and Ringgold ids: new version

Sat, 08 Jun 2019 - 08:29 UTC
Hi all, As many of you know, institutions added on ORCID profiles are overwhelmingly identified by Ringgold ID, a numerical id coming from a proprietary database, making it relatively hard to work with. I have just released an updated version of the dataset providing a partial correspondance

Shouldn't POSTed items respond with Visibilty as well as Put-code?

Tue, 04 Jun 2019 - 03:33 UTC
Hi ORCID team, In the distant past (i.e., circa 1.2-2.0rc3) the API used to respond to POSTs with the posted item in the response body, i.e., how PUTs are handled now. Today (and probably for a while) the response body is empty, with the put-code now found in the items's header as the location,

Re: [ORCID API] API login error problem

Tue, 14 May 2019 - 19:18 UTC
Hi Muhammed, We're very excited to hear you're working on an ORCID integration for the University of Fallujah. The ORCID API doesn't have a login or a user interface, instead you use the client ID and secret to make a system to system connection. The Swagger page you've linked to is an

Good day ORCID folks, This is new ORCID member, University of Fallujah, Iraq, the first Iraq-wide ORCID member ever. I write this to report twin concerns. At first, We seek to integrate our institution D-space (http://ufds.uofallujah.edu.iq/) with ORCID Additionally, we intend to have API

Put items not honouring None when there is data in the record.

Mon, 13 May 2019 - 03:49 UTC
Hi ORCID folk, Can we get clarification on an issue which has us scratching our heads. We've had queries from a user where they're trying to update an item using its putcode. That's working as expected when the update involves new data, or changes to existing data, but the API seems to ignore

Feedback requested on rorcid walkthrough

Hi, I wrote this walkthrough for using rorcid to pull and structure data. I'm interested in the community's feedback. Is it easy to follow? Is anything over-complicated? Anything I'm missing? Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Available at https://github.com/ciakovx/rorcid.workshop/blo

New requirements to verify email addresses interact with sandbox's mailinator restriction

Mon, 29 Apr 2019 - 01:25 UTC
Hi ORCID Sometime between the 5th and the 26th April you have added the following restriction to emails: "Only verified email addresses can be displayed publicly or shared with trusted parties." I can see that's totally reasonable for production, but is rather a pain on sandbox when the only

Force logUserOut does not sign user out(?)

Wed, 03 Apr 2019 - 04:20 UTC
I have a simple use-case. Sign in to my app using ORCID (based on https://members.orcid.org/api/integrate/orcid-sign-in). I want to provide an easy way of making certain that users have terminated their ORCID session, so I use the javascript fetch method to hit https://sandbox.orcid.org/userStat

Contributor's credit name is dynamically overwritten whenever written together with their ORCID iD

Fri, 22 Mar 2019 - 01:32 UTC
Kia ora koutou, We've discovered some surprising (to us) behaviour from the ORCID registry when writing contributors. When an item is written containing a contributor having a contributor-orcid block, although the post/put response shows the credit name as it was submitted, in the written
