Support for ORCID in CRIS Systems

ORCID member systems

ORCID member system integrations are reviewed by the ORCID community team before we issue production credentials. They are eligible for our Collect & Connect badges, which indicate that an integration meets ORCID’s best practice guidelines. Other member organizations using these systems are also eligible for their own Collect & Connect badges. Typically this involves verifying which version is being used (see below for details of approved versions) and including appropriate information about ORCID for users.

Converis (Clarivate Analytics)

ORCID members can set up their Converis installation to allow researchers to link or facilitate the creation of a new ORCID iD. Researchers can also synchronize research works data between their ORCID and Converis records.

For information on how to enable support for ORCID in Converis, contact Converis Support.

Members using Converis do not need to demonstrate their integration on the ORCID Sandbox. When applying for credentials mention that you are using Converis in the notes field. Please ensure that you are using version 5.10.5 (or higher), which supports ORCID API 2.0. Members can review the integration within their Converis test environment if desired.

Collect & Connect: Members using Converis (v 5.10.5 or higher) may qualify for badges up to Collect.

Elements (Digital Science)

ORCID members can configure Elements to allow researchers to link to their ORCID iD and gather persistent identifiers from their ORCID record.

For information on how to enable ORCID with your Elements installation, visit the Symplectic Knowledge Base or contact: Sympletic Support.

Members using Elements do not need to demonstrate their integration on the ORCID Sandbox. Members are able to review the integration within their Elements test environment if they wish to do so. When applying for credentials mention that you are using Symplectic Elements in the notes field and ensure that you are using version 5.6 (or higher), which supports ORCID API 2.0.

Collect & Connect: Members using Elements v5.6 or higher may qualify for badges up to and including Connect.

Faculty180 (Interfoliio)

ORCID members can configure Faculty180 to allow researchers to link their ORCID iD to their faculty account and transfer their scholarly activities between the two systems.

Members using Faculty180 do not need to demonstrate their integration on the ORCID Sandbox. When applying for credentials mention that you are using Faculty180 in the notes field and ensure that you are using the latest version, which supports ORCID API 2.0

Collect & Connect: Members using Faculty180 may qualify for badges up to Collect.

IRMA (University Office)

ORCID members can configure IRMA to allow researchers to create an ORCID iD on demand, connect their existing ORCID iDs, and gather identifiers from their ORCID records.

More details about the integration.

For information on how to enable ORCID with your IRMA installation, contact University Office.

Members using IRMA do not need to test and demonstrate their integration on the ORCID Sandbox. When applying for credentials mention that you are using IRMA in the notes field. IRMA presently only supports API 1.2.

Collect & Connect: Members using IRMA may qualify for badges up to and including Display.

Pure (Elsevier)

ORCID members can configure their installation of Pure to allow researchers to create an ORCID iD or link to their existing ORCID record. Pure can also be used to assert your researchers’ affiliation with your organization, add works to your researchers ORCID records and links to their public portal page. More information.

Members using Pure do not need to demonstrate their integration on the ORCID Sandbox. Members are able to review the integration within their PURE test environment if you wish to do so. When applying for credentials mention that you are using Pure in the notes field, and ensure that you are using version 5.9.0 (or higher), which has been upgraded to support ORCID API 2.0.

Collect & Connect: Members using Pure v5.9.0 or higher may qualify for badges up to and including Connect.
