ORCID/ISSN database integration for peer-reviews

3 hours 56 min ago
For those of you working with peer review in ORCID: Please note that we are now using the ISSN database to assign eISSNs as group identifiers for grouping by journal. When a member creates a new ISSN group identifier it is added to the ORCID Registry as before, but with ORCID as the owner and

Default API version changing to v3.0

Thu, 12 Sep 2019 - 21:28 UTC
*From October 1st, 2019 the default version used for API calls will move from version 2.0 to 3.0 * This change only affects those using content negotiation and calls that do not specify the API version. As we always encourage all clients to specify a version in all API calls, we hope this

Unspecified 500 error in OAuth: exchanging the authorization code for the access token

Tue, 20 Aug 2019 - 12:42 UTC
Dear all, I'm using the Public API 3-legged OAuth and able to authorize myself on the ORCID website. Then the ORCID gives me the code, which I cannot exchange for the access token: $ curl -i -L -k --data 'client_id=APP-XXX&client_secret=YYY&grant_type=authorization_code&redirect_uri=MY_APP_REDI

ORCID ids in PDF metadata (XMP)

Fri, 19 Jul 2019 - 16:24 UTC
Hi, This question is not directly about the ORCID API so I hope it is not too inappropriate to ask this here. Are there any guidelines about how to embed ORCID ids in PDF metadata? The "Extensible Metadata Platform" (XMP) can be used to add metadata to PDF files, and it was mentioned in an

Issues we've encountered while migrating affiliations from V2.1 to V3.0

Mon, 17 Jun 2019 - 01:47 UTC
Hello ORICD team, we’re in the midst of migrating our code from V2.1 to V3.0. As we’re using the swagger as the seed for our code, we’ve discovered a range of issues with both the swagger defs, and changes to the values that the API accepts. Some of these appear stylistic, others are core.

I am trying to authenticate a JupyterHub service with ORCiD. I am working on a test server (without HTTPS nor DNS). They request for the endpoint with user data and after looking for it too much time, I found this one: https://sandbox.orcid.org/oauth/userinfo. For this purpose, I created a

Aligned ISNI and Ringgold ids: new version

Sat, 08 Jun 2019 - 08:29 UTC
Hi all, As many of you know, institutions added on ORCID profiles are overwhelmingly identified by Ringgold ID, a numerical id coming from a proprietary database, making it relatively hard to work with. I have just released an updated version of the dataset providing a partial correspondance

Shouldn't POSTed items respond with Visibilty as well as Put-code?

Tue, 04 Jun 2019 - 03:33 UTC
Hi ORCID team, In the distant past (i.e., circa 1.2-2.0rc3) the API used to respond to POSTs with the posted item in the response body, i.e., how PUTs are handled now. Today (and probably for a while) the response body is empty, with the put-code now found in the items's header as the location,
